For our first product into Thailand: Tata has carried out extensive
research in the ASEAN region and found Thailand to be an ideal hub for
manufacturing with its strong supplier base, high quality conscious work
force and strong auto policy.
For our first venture, we have made an investment of over 1.3 billion
baht for manufacturing the 1 ton pickup. This will be the first in a
series of investments we will be making to introduce a range of high
quality products using the latest technology specifically catering to
the Thai customer needs. We have already applied for the Eco Car project
and will announce major investment once the project is approved. We are
strongly committed to the Thai market.
