19 buildings awarded for energy-saving features

SCT Trading Building and Kasikornbank's headquarters become the first office buildings that win the Energy Ministry's gold energy-saving labels, under the ministry's scheme to promote sustainable energy conservation.

Energy Minister Wannarat Charn-nukul on Thursday awarded labels to 19 energy-saving buildings.

Among the other winners include Central Chaeng Wattana and Central Pattaya, which, thanks to the new building designs, can save energy cost worth Bt34.35 million per annum. Others are Krung Thai Bank's Krathumban Branch; Magnolia's Susana home design; Fantasia's C-type townhome; Stock Exchange of Thailand Building; Pathum Design's PS595, 599, 603 home designs and Supalai's five home designs which are developed into 495 houses for sale.

Altogether, the buildings will save combined energy of 16 million units per annum, worth Bt48 million a year.
