Thai Samsung Electronics is fleshing out its line of options tied to LED TVs - including digital camcorders, digital cameras and Blu-ray players - to achieve 32-per-cent growth in consumer audio-visual (AV) sales this year. Arnut Changtrakul, deputy managing director, yesterday said the company was steering its AV business under the concept of "Market Reinvention Seamless Experience". The aim was to offer the best lifestyle innovations for premium consumers by continuously developing products that combine all functions. "Due to the economic downturn, all levels of consumers must cut their expenses and request more product value for their money. "We are committed to leveraging our technology and design to create new categories, markets and demand to satisfy all our consumers' evolving needs and digital lifestyles," he said. Samsung's AV business performed well through the first quarter, with the major contributor, LCD TVs, putting in remarkable sales growth of 18 per cent to stand as the leader in the market with a share of 37.3 per cent by value. Samsung's digital camera comes with a 12.2-megapixel CCD sensor and can link to Samsung's LED TVs to display photos on both screens. Prices for the digital cameras range from Bt4,990-Bt11,990. With the LED TVs' hi-tech features and the collaboration with YouTube, customers can enjoy a range of entertainment possibilities, searching for YouTube's online video clips with future high-speed Internet-television connections. Samsung's consumer electronics marketing strategy this year will focus on market customisation, the upper-class household segment and after-sales service. The company also places importance on regional offices to provide service for its upcountry customers.
